Japanese Flying Squid

I have been wanting to start a series of drawings involving squids for a while now. So I started with the Japanese Flying Squid.

Bass Invaders

The second pixel art animation I have planned starring the bass guitar. Long ago the Space Invaders music was one of the first songs I would play on the bass guitar, so I chose to do something with that.

This is The Scythian, the player's character in the video game Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP. Just finished playing this the other day. The game relies on your hardware's internal clock so I had to wait 6 to finish it without cheating. The game is really fun and the art is amazing, the best looking pixel art in a game that I've seen. Sucks that it's short, I guess most EPs are though..

Improv Comedy Show - Episode 1

For the past few weeks I have been involved in an independent improv comedy and animation project. The first episode of this project was just completed recently, you can see it RIGHT HERE!

I created every single piece of art and animated sequence in the 17 minute long video. The first portion, the animated graphic intro was created with Photoshop. I animated the images inside of Premiere using the different Photoshop layers. The happy face portion was also created in the same way, I really like the exaggerated expressions done with that character. The animated potion at the very end of the video was created with Flash and Premiere. This was the first time I had used Flash since CS3. My first time using the Bone tool as well. It's not the best I can do, but I hope to learn more with flash soon.

You can see some of the animated portions independently after the jump. As well as an animation demo I created in 3D Studio Max and rough character sketches.

The Devil Wears Armani Too

Short film I created with Devin Bateson, Justin Peele, Jacqueline Légère, and Mike Demissie (Black Zeus) for the Hamilton 24 Hour Film Fest. We wrote, shot, and edited it within 24 hours.

After sleeping and watching the final film I find it isn't as funny as it was when we were filming. Also turned out quite dark. I would do it again though.

All film makers had to include a scene under a table, a skipping rope, and the line "May the force be with you."

We all collaborated with the writing, editing, and props.
Devin Bateson operated the camera and mic.
Justin Peele acted as the Prideful Man.
Black Zeus acted as the Devil.
Jacqueline Légère acted as the Girl at the Bar.
Paul Scott acted as the Minion/Barry.

Alec Empire

Alec Empire is the founding member of Atari Teenage Riot, a digital hardcore/industrial/punk band from Berlin. I drew him in an Adventure Time like style; dancing around with a crazy long tongue.

Animi2 Music Video

A music video I created for the song "Animi2" by Rebeka Haak. This was a colaboration project between music and animation students. I created this with Photoshop, Premiere, and 3D Studio Max.

Teddie

Fan art of Teddie from Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4. I used 3D Studio Max to create this. I then brought it to Mudbox to paint and model. Then brought it back to 3DS to rig, skin, and animate.

Horrors of a Faraway Place

Horrors of a Faraway Places is an animated series that I created. This is the 6 page pitch bible for the series. My inspiration for this series were the animated tv shows Adventure Time and SpongeBob SquarePants, as well as the animated film Paprika.

Ganesha

Ganesha, one of the Hindu deities. Drew him with a flute.
I drew and coloured this with black, white and grey tones and then put a blue matte over top.
I also used several patterned brushes for this drawing.

Robot Squid Character

A project for school. Tasked with designing a robot character and creating a 3D model from the design drawings. So this first image is the squid robot that I designed. I drew it in a dark underwater ocean setting. I really like how this turned out, one of the best things I've drawn.

Also my nickname at work is Squid.

3D model Rotation, didn't have enough time to get it quite the way I wanted.

Came up with the whole squid idea by drawing large black blotches. I refined that and came up with this silhouette to base my coloured design off of. This silhouette struck me as very interesting.

I created a bust of Gekko Moriah, from One Piece, using the default human head in Mudbox.
